Alexandra Warrick is a filmmaker from New York City, creative director of production company One Man Army and a proud member of The Lambs since November 2020.
At Columbia University, Warrick closely studied “anti-comedy”, a style of humor that intentionally corrupts genre expectations to shocking effect. “The Dada of Haha”, her thesis on avant-garde programming block Adult Swim, merited her the prestigious Andrew Sarris Award for Film Criticism and designated her the first anti-comedy academic on record.
After graduating, Warrick’s debut, the gross-out short film Questions (Or: Peanut Butter), achieved notoriety after its two-day streak on the front page of Reddit’s “r/Videos” subforum; NoBudge’s Kentucker Audley praised Warrick’s portrait of a peanut butter fetishist as “sharp-witted”, while New York Magazine’s Luke Kelly-Clyne claimed it “boast[ed] the best comedic crescendo [he] had the pleasure of covering [in 2019].”
Warrick will be launching One Man Army’s risk-taking sketch comedy screening series at Dimes Square hotspot Sovereign House. She also looks forward to workshopping her full-length feature screenplay, the art-world satire BABY BABY, with her fellow Lambs as moderator of the Club’s weekly Screenwriter’s Night.
