Mockbee, James B.

Col James Barrett Mockbee was elected to The Lambs in 1935 as an Army/Navy member.

He was born on 21 October 1895, in Sedalia, Missouri. His father, James Barrett Mockbee, was 46 and his mother, Elizabeth Curran, was 31. He registered for military service in 1917. He married Bernice Monica Sloper in December 1921. They were the parents of at least two daughters.

Col Mockbee was a dentist, and served in the U.S. Army Dental Command.

In World War II, Colonel Mockbee was assigned to the 15th Infantry, and was on campaigns in Belgium, France, and Germany. He was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received when his troop transport struck a German mine in 1944.

They lived in San Mateo, California, in 1950. He died on 28 November 1973, in San Francisco, at the age of 78, and was buried in Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Menlo Park, California.
