Father John Sheehan, SJ, is a Jesuit priest. He is currently Resident Priest at Joint Base McGuire Dix Lakehurst, a major military facility, in Lakehurst, New Jersey.
He spent 12 years in Nigeria and 27 months in the Marshall Islands.
Father John was elected to The Lambs in 2007 as a Clergy member. After a time away, he returned to The Fold in 2026.
Before priesthood, Father John, a member of Actors’ Equity, worked professionally in theatre and broadcasting, and enjoyed unusual jobs, including driving for a stunt driving team, running his own public relations firm, managing dinner theatres and catering services, and flying and jumping out of airplanes. Born in Manhattan, he has lived in 8 different countries and speaks several languages badly. He is a singer with three CD’s and is available for parties and Broadway shows.
Father John is a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians; Knights of Columbus (4th degree); Notre Dame Alumni Association. He asked, “Does the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits) count?”
