Stow, John A.

John A. Stow (Dec. 30, 1841-Dec. 28, 1911) was a charter member of The Lambs and was among the members to sign the Club Articles of Incorporation on May 7, 1877. He was elected in 1875.

Stow served as Club Treasurer and as the second Boy of The Lambs, 1879-1880. In August 1878, he was one of the committee members to receive the body of founding Shepherd Henry J. Montague, when his remains were brought from San Francisco to New York for burial.

He was editor of Men’s Outfitter, 56 Franklin Street, and The Republican, in Arlington, New Jersey, where he resided.

Stow is interred in Green-Wood Cemetery in Section 60.
