Abbott, E.G.

Elisha G. Abbott (June 10, 1875-July 20, 1924) was a U.S. Army officer who was elected to The Lambs in 1913. He served during the Spanish American War, earning a commission in 1898 in the 3rd Texas Infantry. Abbott served in the U.S. Army from 1900-1921.

He was a graduate of the Coast Artillery School. In 1912 he was stationed in Virginia at Fort Monroe.

At Fort Baker in Marin County, California, he was an honorary member of the Bohemian Club in San Francisco.

In 1915 Captain Abbott was in the U.S. Army Signal Corps and posted to Manila, Philippines.

He retired due to disability in 1918 as a major.

He died July 20, 1924, in Washington, D.C. Major Abbott is interred in Hillsboro City Cemetery, Hillsboro, Texas.
