Evan Albert Evans (1871-1961) was a real estate developer in Chicago. He was elected to The Lambs in 1914 as a Non-Resident Member.
Evans was born February 6, 1871, in Jackson County, Ohio, the son of a Civil War veteran. He was educated in the Normal School in Kirksville, Missouri (today Truman State). He was a school teacher in Missouri as a young man. Evans moved to Chicago after teaching.
He joined the Chicago Portrait Company in 1893 and became president in 1902. He later was proprietor of Moffett Studio, president of the Ohio Building Safety Vault Company, and treasurer of the Illinois Charity Company. He developed buildings in the Loop and the city’s North Side.
He married Pauline Belle Hart in 1901.
Evans was a 32-degree Mason, and also a member of the Union League Club, the Chicago Athletic Association, the South Shore Country Club, and several others.
Evan Albert Evans died Feb. 18, 1961, in a Chicago nursing home. He was 90 years old.
