Dr. William Frieder (1884-1944) was for 25 years the physician to The Lambs. He was born in Canada and came to New York as a young man. Frieder attended Columbia University and in 1906 he graduated from the College of Physicians and Surgeons. He set up an orthopedic surgeon’s practice.
He was elected to the Lambs in 1921.
He was widely known in theatrical circles, both for his association with The Lambs and also as the physician for the Shubert theaters. Frieder was also professionally associated with the Actors Fund of America for 25 years. He lived in Bayside, Queens, and he kept an office in the Hotel Edison.
Dr. William Frieder died March 9, 1944. He was 60 years old.
