Gaunt, Percy

Percy Gaunt (1852-1896) was a songwriter. He was born in Philadelphia.

Gaunt was elected to The Lambs on 8 July 1893 as a Professional member.

He was the musical director for the Charles Hoyt Company, in which capacity he wrote numerous songs for Broadway and theatre shows in the 1880s and 1890s. One of his most popular songs was “Love Me Little, Love Me Long”.

Gaunt is interred in Brooklyn’s Green-Wood Cemetery in Section 72.
