Gulick, Col. Louis Mason

Colonel Louis Mason Gulick (May 27, 1879—December 23, 1933) was an officer in the United States Marine Corps. He was elected to the Lambs as an Army-Navy member in 1913.

Col. Gulick was born in Italy and immigrated to the U.S. as a youth. He joined the Marines in 1899 and served in the Spanish-American War. The Marine spent seventeen years overseas. He was a veteran of World War I, and commanded Marines in Nicaragua in 1927. He was awarded a Navy Cross for distinguished service in Nicaragua.

Col. Gulick was serving as commandant of the guard with the China legation when he died of chronic nephritis in Beijing, China, on December 23, 1933. His remains were returned to the U.S. and he was interred in Arlington National Cemetery.
