Nicholas Joy was born on January 31, 1884 in Paris. He was an actor and writer, known for Desk Set (1957), New Wine (1941) and Joan of Arc (1948).
As a Broadway actor he was active from 1912-1957. Joy had an extremely prolific theatrical career, cast in numerous hit productions. He appeared in the original cast production of “The Iceman Cometh” (as “Cecil Lewis”) in 1946, “The Philadelphia Story” (as “Seth Lord”) in 1939, “Music in the Air” (as “Ernst Weber”) in 1932 and “Topaze” (as “Roger de Berville”), one of the biggest hits of the 1930 theatrical season.
Nicholas Joy died on March 16, 1964 in Philadelphia. He was 80 years old.
