John Joseph “Joe” Kindred III (1931-2014) was elected to The Lambs in 1987 as a Non-Professional Member.
Kindred was born on March 30, 1931 to John J. Kindred II and Katherine Carrier in Forest Hill. He grew up in Queens. He contracted polio at the age of three, which led to a lifelong passion for Joe to eradicate polio in the world. He went to college at Washington & Lee, and graduated from University of Virginia Law School.
Joe worked as a trust officer for Manufacturers Hanover Trust in New York (Chase Bank), for over 30 years until he retired in the early 1990s. He was a member of many different groups, including the Damariscotta-Newcastle Rotary Club in Damariscotta, Maine.
Joe died Sept. 19, 2014.
