Augustus Pitou, Jr. (17 Sep 1876-18 Nov 1957) was a theatrical manager and producer. He was the son of actor/theatre manager/playwright Augustus Pitou, Sr.
Pitou was elected to The Lambs 21 Nov 1887 as a Professional Member.
He began his career as an advance man on the road for New York theatrical productions, then became a producer of touring New York shows. He also wrote plays and managed the Irish singer/actor Fiske O’Hara.
He also became a theatre manager in various parts of the country including the Blackstone in Chicago.
From 1932 until 1956 he was top assistant to Marcus Heiman at the United Booking Office, booking theatres in New York and around the country.
Augustus Pitou died 18 Nov 1957, in Queens. He is interred in Woodlawn Cemetery, The Bronx.
