Joan Pollack was elected a Theatrical member on 17 July 2014, sponsored by Beth Holland and Vivienne Gilbert. A lifelong New Yorker, Joan attended Barnard College and pursued an early career as an event planner, organizing debutante parties, weddings, charity benefits and balls for New York society clients as well as museum openings. She subsequently became a theatrical producer, with The Producers and Hairspray among her Broadway credits. Joan is a longtime board member of the York Theater, a well-established Off-Broadway company noted for its development of new musicals. She is also a member of the Harvard Club, Doubles, the National Arts Club, and the Dutch Treat Club.
