Maurice V. SamuelsMaurice Victor Samuels (1874-1945) was a noted playwright. He was elected to The Lambs in 1908 as a Professional member.

The playwright and author was born October 3, 1874, in San Francisco. He was educated at the University of California. Samuels had a successful career in law, before leaving the work of an attorney to become a playwright. His stage plays were adapted into Hollywood films.

He was the author of “The Conflict” (1909), a Biblical play called “The Wanderer” (1917), and the musical flop “Tales of Rigo” (1927) at the Lyric Theatre that ran one week.

Samuels was also a member of The Salmagundi Club.

Maurice V. Samuels died in Los Angeles in April 1945. He was 70 years old.
