Sharland, Elizabeth

Elizabeth Sharland (1933-2025) was an Australian-born actress, author, and producer. She was elected to The Lambs in 1989 as a Theatrical member.

Elizabeth Sharland was born in Hobart, Tasmania, on February 24, 1933.

In the 1950s she appeared on television in Canada in dramatic roles.

Her first book, From Shakespeare to Coward, was published in 1997 and she wrote six more books on the theatre, including The British on Broadway, A Theatrical Feast of London, and A Theatrical Feast of New York, as well as penning a novel, The Best Actress. She spoke regularly at book signings at venues such as The Players and the National Arts Club. Her most recent book is Passionate Pilgrimages from Chopin to Coward in 2008.

Elizabeth Sharland Jones died in West Palm Beach, Florida on May 16, 2025. She was 92 years old.
