The Lambs’ Fine Art Collection, Archives, Memorabilia

The Lambs is not only a social club but a historical society. The paintings and memorabilia on the walls of The Lambs form an intimate and unique story of New York theatrical life from the past 200+ years, creating a veritable living history of American Theatre. Many of these paintings and portraits are by renowned artists–all Lambs’ members–including:
* Howard Chandler Christy
* James Montgomery Flagg
* Charles X. Harris
* Everett Raymond Kinstler
* Robert Reid
* Hubert Vos

The paintings fall into two general categories; the Shepherds’ (presidents) portraits, and nudes that were painted for the cover artwork for the Lambs’ Gambols from the 1920s-1950s.

The Lambs’ also has hundreds of books, letters, photographs, and pieces of ephemera.

All the artwork and artifacts are owned, maintained, and are being restored by The Lambs Foundation, which gladly accepts tax-deductible donations to be used toward the restoration work.
